In this Short and to the point post. I’ve Condensed all the notes, which I’ve learnt about storytelling by once of the influential storytellers in India, Parithosh Anand.

What is a good story?

  • A good story is something that makes you feel the presence and absence of elements like an emotion, experience or a person.

  • A story that paints a picture in your mind.

  • A Story that can be easily narrated once listened to.

Elements (Elements transform your ordinary story to story that you'll remember.)

  1. Characters -(Characters of your story)

  2. Conflict - (Challenge / revenge a Character faces)

  3. Emotion - (arise of emotions like Happiness, Sadness, Fear, Angriness Etc.)

  4. Resolution - (The resolution resolves the conflict and concludes the story, providing closure.)

  5. Relatability -(people relate to your story)

  6. Attention to details - (supports your picture by adding little things to your story as you paint a picture).

Structure of a story

  1. Hook

  2. Introduction

  3. Body

  4. Call to action

Things to keep in Mind

  1. Body language

  2. Tonality/ voice modulation

  3. Know your audience.

Importance of communication(Important virtue to have)

you can literally conquer everything and anything that comes your way.
